Irene Mawer and the RADA Connection

Drama, London, April 1935

This tiny article was very important to me as it finally explained why students from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) were performing at the show given by the Institute of Mime. It also explains why the Central School were there, as well as Ginner-Mawer. Central and Ginner-Mawer presented no surprise to me, but I was only able to surmise as to the connection with RADA. Now I have the evidence I needed to confirm my guesses:

The work of the Institute of Mime in our dramatic schools was shown by students from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, the Central School of Speech and Drama, and the Ginner-Mawer School of Dance and Drama.

It is good to have confirmation of the connection that seemed obvious, but needed validation.

Hopefully, early in 2025, I will be launcing my long-awaited book about Irene Mawer; the Ginner-Mawer School of Dance and Drama; and the Institute of Mime.  I will be launching via the Kickstarter platform, which will enable people to pre-order the book either in digital of print format (or both!)  Here is a link so that you can see what it is all about: https://www.kickstarter.com/uk
