Buxton Festival

This newspaper clipping is quite long, and gives detailed information about the work of the British Drama League School and the previous year’s Theatre Festival in Buxton. This year they intended to hold a school on similar lines in the Playhouse.
It is clear that last year’s event was a success and that the organisers were expecting the forthcoming school to also be popular.
“Miss Ruscoe, fellow and vice-president of the Institute of Mime, who will give daily classes in Mime, and Expressive and Historic Movement, and additional classes in Choral and Dramatic Speech.”
Other tutors were to give classes in such things as play writing, make-up, and acting and there were discussion groups and technical classes on all the various theatre arts.
