Commonwealth War Grave

Robert Jacomb Norris Dale was Irene Mawer’s first husband. She suffered greatly on hearing of his death, when he was killed in action during the First World War. He died in Italy and is buried at Giavera, near Venice. The photo shows me paying my respects at the Commonwealth War Graves cemetery. I will create some further blog posts about this at a later date, as I have a video of me saying some words and a voice recording of my husband, Andy, spontaneously reading one of Irene Mawer’s poems (I hadn’t planned to say anything, and I had no idea that he was going to read a poem – its not something he tends to do! It was very moving.)
