The End

That’s it, folks.

I have reached the end.

The end of what?

My tether, perhaps?

Certainly that has happened a few times, and twice there were tears of frustration.  But that was only ever with the computer technology, never with the subject matter.

The end of the road?

No, it’s not that.  I’m still in my camper van, currently in Italy.

The end of my book?

It has been five long years.  Five years of passion, pain, and pleasure and last week in the land of the immortals, I wrote those immortal words:  The End.

It happened so quicky that I could not quite believe that the words were there.  It was a most peculiar feeling.  It still is.

Of course, there are more words available – but I have had to draw that line.  That imaginary line, the line in the sand, the line under it.

I have enough extra words for at least two more books, but for now The Quest is drawing to a close.

I say drawing to a close, because it is not finished.  Now comes the beady-eye reading and the editing.

The photo was taken just now.  My husband, Andy, is driving us towards Rome and I am working (in between watching the scenery change from the sandy coast to snow-capped mountains).

It has been, and continues to be, a pleasure. Stick with me, I’m nearly there!
