Although only a few lines long, this newspaper article is really sweet and extremely complimentary to Irene Mawer – it compares the joy of seeing Mawer to the joy of seeing the famous ballerina, Anna Pavlova. That is some comparison. (It is not suggesting that Mawer dances, rather it is saying that it was a treat to see Pavlova, and it is an equal treat to see Mawer.)

As it is so tiny, I will copy out the whole thing here:

“Treat in Store. Those who saw Pavlova and wish a treat in the same line, but of a different kind, should attend the SASU lecture on Thursday by Miss Irene Mawer on ‘The Rhythms of Verse and Movement.’ The illustrations are to be from the lecturer’s well-known work, ‘The Dance of Words,’ and are to be danced by Miss Ruby Ginner. Miss Mawer is always interesting, and, with Miss Ginner as demonstrator, there is a treat in store for those who attend.”
